Empire Union School District
Robert Price, Ed.D., is currently superintendent of the Empire Union School District. He has served as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent for instruction.
He has had a longtime interest in the uses of educational technology. Robert has had a particular interest in technology applicable to administration. He has long sought out association with numerous individuals with leading edge technical skills.
He has built a number of new schools and been directly involved in designing technological access into the construction of the facility. Technological planning is a priority in the Empire Union School District. They have set up an entire school as a research and development site for technology. Robert and his staff have gone into existing sites to work with staff to bring in current technological resources.
Robert has written grants to fund technology improvements to his schools. They were a "Building the Future" site in the state of California. They actually brought an entire school online the same month that Netscape was launched. He has designed and led many workshops, presentations and consulting. His district has done great deal of analysis of data to improve instruction and student learning.
The district has made great strides in Curriculum Integration. They have developed their libraries as the Information Literacy centers of each of their schools. Robert has managed to network all schools in the district and the District Office. Every classroom in the district has an Internet connection.
Robert has presented locally and statewide with the California League of Middle Schools, ACSA, CSBA, & CEDPA. He finds two technological publications, Electronic School, e-school news (online) to be particularly useful. He is interested in online journals and sites that help organize web pages. Robert enjoys camping and spending time with his family.
